034: Hula Dancer by Gill from the 1940's. The art of the never fully identified artist Gill reflects a time period of Hawaiiana during which several artists began employing a method of airbrushed stenciling. Through layering complex textures Gill was able to capture the grace and beauty of the Hawaiian wahine. This early airbrush painting helped establish the artist Gill (also known as the artist Gil, or Eric Gill) as a prominent Hawaiian airbrush artist.
