When selecting a frame for your print, consider choosing a frame that is larger than the print, so that the image as well as the frame will be enhanced by a mat.
Apart from adding a neutral area between the image and the frame, a mat helps preserve your print, as it keeps it from coming in contact with the glass, thereby avoiding sticking and/or mildew-forming. All our mats are double layered mats with the outer top mat overlapping the inner bottom mat. The top layer color is off-white/antique cream with a black inner mat. A mat ordered from us will add 4 inch to the width and 4 inch to the length of the picture, which you may want to take into consideration when ordering a frame. For example, a 20x28 print requires a 24x32 mat and a 24x32 frame.
