'Paddler'
Hawaiian petroglyph image of a paddler. We would like to say more about this, and give you a complete scientific history of Hawaiian paddlers, but alas, it's just a bloke with his paddle raised, and we don't even know if he actually had a canoe. Perhaps he had chiseled one in stone and he was dreaming of having a real one. Now, granted, that would still say something about the conditions under which ancient Hawaiian men yearned to one day having a canoe of their own, but we'd be merely grandstanding since we are dealing with antiquity here, and who knows? So, rather than go on and on about the role the paddler played in Hawaiian society at the dawn of man, let's just accept this petroglyph for what it is, some bloke with his paddle raised, carved into lava rock...
